Inaugural Resilient California Summit Brings 1,000 Climate Leaders to Sacramento

Sacramento will host California’s first statewide climate resilience gathering next week, as the inaugural Resilient California Summit opens its doors at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center on 20 October 2026. Around 1,000 leaders from local government, Tribal nations, community organisations, academia and the private sector are expected at the three-day event, which centres on the findings of California’s Fifth Climate Change Assessment.

What the summit will cover

According to the summit’s official programme, participants will explore key insights from the Fifth Climate Change Assessment, imagine the best possible future that remains within reach, and catalyse the actions needed to turn that vision into reality. The summit promises a diversity of interactive, practitioner-led sessions aimed at fostering cross-sector dialogue, sharing tangible resources and tools, and surfacing actionable priorities for California’s resilience agenda.

Who is organising it

The summit is organised by the Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation, Climate Resolve, Farallon Strategies, the California Natural Resources Agency, the UC Davis Institute of the Environment and the Indigenous Futures Society, with core support from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, the Resources Legacy Fund and Resilient Cities Catalyst.
