Ten young Climate Education Ambassadors have been honoured by QS ImpACT for leading grassroots climate education through its Global Day of Action 2026 — with Türkiye’s Asya Çarmıklı and Pakistan’s Hisam Nizamani among the recognised youth leaders whose sessions, workshops and awareness campaigns reached learners across schools and communities.

The top ten Climate Education Ambassadors

According to QS ImpACT’s announcement, the ten recognised ambassadors are Deepti Tomar (India), Renzaho Celestin (Rwanda), Prisha Saraf (India), Zelalem Samuel (Ethiopia), Haruna Sule (Nigeria), Jannatul-Firdaus Alhussein (Ghana), Mai Truong (Vietnam), Asya Çarmıklı (Türkiye), Hisam Nizamani (Pakistan) and Munyentwari Uwasenga Flavienne (Rwanda). The organisation said their work ranged “from tribal communities in India and AI-powered climate education in Ethiopia to gamified learning in Vietnam and local-language outreach in Pakistan”.

QS ImpACT added that, collectively, the ambassadors’ initiatives “empowered thousands of learners”. The Climate Education Ambassadors signed up through the Global Day of Action 2026, through which young people aged 18–35 led climate education sessions in schools and communities, organised workshops and awareness campaigns, and reported their impact to the programme. QS ImpACT brands the cohort “10 young leaders. 10 countries”; the ten names published in its announcement span eight countries.

Ambassador impact on the ground

Participating ambassadors have reported striking results from their own campaigns, showing what youth-led climate education can achieve within months.

A campus drive in Benin

On 1 June 2026, ambassador Moussa Dari of the Université d’Abomey-Calavi in Benin reported reaching more than 100 students, mobilising over 111 volunteers, planting 667 trees and collecting 2.6 tonnes of waste in a campus clean-up — an example of the ambassador model combining awareness with hands-on action.

Climate quizzes in Ghana

In Ghana, ambassador Prince Delali Gokah reported reaching over 1,000 students through climate quizzes and hands-on exercises held for World Environment Day on 5 June 2026, spreading climate literacy through interactive learning.

Recognition and the road to the London Youth Summit

QS ImpACT says the Top Climate Education Ambassadors will be featured globally on its platform and recognised at the QS ImpACT Youth Summit, where the winners of the 2026 awards are announced in London on 5–6 December 2026. The recognition spotlights a generation of young people choosing education as their climate tool — teaching change rather than waiting for it.

For youth-led sustainability programmes, the announcement marks a milestone: climate education delivered by young people themselves, in local languages and local contexts, from tribal communities to university campuses — a model QS ImpACT describes as empowering thousands of learners worldwide.
