Security forces have successfully neutralized 30 terrorists in multiple intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The operations, which took place in Kurram, Mohmand, and Tank districts, resulted in the killing of terrorists affiliated with the Indian proxy Fitna al-Khawarij group.

  • Four terrorists were killed in an IBO conducted in Mohmand district on November 18-19.
  • Two terrorists were neutralized in Lakki Marwat district during a fire exchange.
  • 12 terrorists were killed in Kurram district after an intense exchange of fire during a targeted operation.
  • 11 more terrorists were neutralized in another intelligence-based operation in the same general area.

Kurram District Operations

The Kurram district saw the most significant number of terrorist neutralizations, with 12 terrorists killed during a targeted operation.

The operation was conducted on the reported presence of militants on November 19, and sanitisation operations are underway to eliminate any other India-backed terrorists found in the area.

ISPR Statement

The ISPR stated that “capitalising on intelligence with respect to presence of another group of khawarij, in same general area, in another intelligence-based operation, own troops successfully neutralised 11 more”.

Azm-e-Istehkam Operation

The successful IBOs come as armed forces have intensified efforts to eradicate terrorism under the Azm-e-Istehkam operation, which aims to address the sharp increase in terrorist attacks in Pakistan since 2021.

Terrorist attacks have seen a significant rise in the bordering provinces of KP and Balochistan, with KP alone recording over 600 terror incidents in the first eight months of 2025.

International Community Support

Pakistan’s position on terrorism emanating from Afghanistan has received support from the head of the UN Security Council’s Daesh and Al-Qaeda Sanctions Committee, who stated that the TTP carried out multiple high-profile attacks in Pakistan from Afghan soil.
