All Energy Australia 2026 exhibition hall in Melbourne with solar panels and battery storage displays

All Energy Australia 2026, the Asia-Pacific region’s largest clean energy exhibition and conference, opened on 28 October at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, bringing together more than 16,500 industry professionals, over 490 exhibitors and more than 500 speakers across 100-plus sessions over two days.

Organised by RX Global in partnership with the Clean Energy Council, the free-to-attend event runs on 28 and 29 October and covers the technologies and policies shaping Australia’s clean energy transition, from solar and wind to battery storage, hydrogen and electric transport.

Two days in Melbourne

The conference opened on Wednesday 28 October with a fireside chat between Clean Energy Council chief executive Jackie Trad and Victoria’s Minister for Energy and Resources, Climate Action, Environment and State Electricity Commission, Jaclyn Symes. Victoria’s Shadow Minister for Energy and Emissions Reduction, David Davis, was scheduled to speak shortly afterwards.

Across the two days, sessions run in eight rooms on level 2 of the Convention Centre as well as in Plenary Hall 3 and theatres on the exhibition floor, with a one-day Victorian Government seminar series in the Industry Workshop Theatre.

The grid takes centre stage

This year’s programme reflects a shift in Australia’s energy transition: the challenge is no longer only building more renewable generation, but connecting, managing and delivering that power reliably. Grid integration, battery storage and digital energy management are among the central themes.

The dedicated Grid and Network Zone brings together technologies for transforming Australia’s electricity networks, at a time of major investment in transmission infrastructure, storage capacity and network modernisation. Other zones cover electric vehicle technology and infrastructure, energy management and the Clean Energy Council’s masterclass programme.

The focus on networks echoes a warning carried by Watan News this week: the head of the International Renewable Energy Agency said the world will add less clean energy capacity in 2026 than in 2025, for the first time in five years, partly because transmission networks have not kept pace with generation. Readers can find that story here.

Women in Renewables lunch and skills sessions

On 28 October the event hosted its Women in Renewables Lunch in the Melbourne Room, bringing together more than 500 industry leaders for networking and a fireside chat celebrating the women powering Australia’s clean energy transition, featuring Kate Symons, a board member of the Australian Energy Regulator, chaired by Ange Catt of Tilt Renewables.

The Clean Energy Council’s masterclass sessions, running on both days, are aimed at installers, designers and retailers of rooftop solar, inverters and batteries, covering technology advances, regulation and best practice, with full annual professional development points available.

International presence: Korean pavilion

The exhibition also carries a strong international presence. A Korean pavilion, backed by the South Korean government, features eight companies showcasing products and technologies to Australian buyers, with one-to-one export consultations.

Among them, Lightbridge presents integrated solutions for hydrogen production and charging, Nine Watt shows interactive building energy analysis services, Cloud and demonstrates an energy management platform using artificial intelligence for facility optimisation, World Energy displays heating and cooling systems using waste heat, and ENFOS presents technology aimed at minimising power loss. Airlane brings gas separation membrane technology, ABR introduces remanufactured anode and cathode materials, and Turbo Win presents turbo blowers and compressors that improve energy efficiency. Wonkwang S and T takes part separately, focusing on recycling technologies for solar panel waste and electric vehicle batteries.

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency is also present at the Australian Government booth, alongside the Australian Trade and Investment Commission and the Clean Energy Regulator, where visitors can discuss funding opportunities for renewable projects.

Why it matters ahead of COP31

All Energy Australia 2026 takes place less than two weeks before COP31 opens in Antalya, Türkiye, on 9 November, where negotiators will discuss how countries turn climate pledges into delivery. The Melbourne gathering shows where that delivery challenge sits in practice: panels, inverters and batteries are ready, but the grids, markets and skills to use them at scale are still catching up.

China’s wind and solar capacity recently passed 2 terawatts in a historic milestone, showing how fast generation can scale when networks and policy align. Readers can find that story here.
